Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty Movie Review

  • Storyline
  • Performance
  • Music & Direction

From Jayasudha’s entry till the end, Miss Shetty and Mr Polisetti entertained me completely. Mahesh Babu has portrayed human emotions very well. As an audience, I was expecting a full-fledged comedy entertainer from Naveen Policetty, but was pleasantly surprised by the portrayal of female vulnerabilities. For me, two scenes stand out as the highlights: Jayasudha’s last words and Anushka’s realization and emotional breakdown in front of her mother. Even strong, independent women can be at their most vulnerable and emotional during pregnancy and this aspect is beautifully depicted and developed in the story. As expected, Naveen provided great entertainment with his comedy and emotional acting. I personally feel that Naveen’s talent has been underutilized. From AIB to present, I have always enjoyed Naveen’s work and look forward to seeing more of his films. I felt that Murali Sharma and Nassar were not fully utilized, probably because the story didn’t give them much. However, Murli Sharma’s advice to Naveen was actually practical. The songs were quite influential, not necessarily as chart-toppers but because they were used effectively to immerse the audience in the story. Mahesh’s writing and direction was very commendable. I believe there are even better and bigger things in store for Mahesh in the future. As a viewer, I would prefer more movies like this rather than half-baked movies with unnecessary exposition and meaningless fights.
